40 Days of Prayer – By Thy Spirit Lord

Seventh-day Adventists across the globe are anticipating the return of Jesus Christ – it is in our name ADVENTISTS. As we wait expectantly for Jesus’ return, we are excited as a Church as we approach a very significant date, September 2027. Through God’s prophetic gift bestowed to His Church, it is revealed that this date marks 2000 years since Jesus Christ the Saviour of the world, Emmanuel – God with us, was baptised in the Jordan River by John the Baptist. We applaud the World Church for marking this remarkable occasion with this special initiative, One Voice 27, which has caught the imagination of God’s people right around the globe.

At the SEC Camp Meeting 2026 in a workshop led by Pastor Kwarteng Ampofo, SEC Personal Ministries Director, on ‘Building Your Church’s One Voice 27 Mission Journey,’ we were introduced to five Ps in the planning chain: Prayer, Preparation, People, Proclamation and Preservation. The Holy Spirit had already gone ahead and inspired Sis Marcelle Moncrieffe, London Area 6B Prayer Coordinator to organise with her team: (a) Three days of Prayer and Fasting. This took place on Friday, 18 to Sunday, 20 September 2026 (b) 40 Days of Prayer – One Voice 27 from Thursday, 1 October to Monday, 9 November 2026 from 6:00- 7:00am daily (c) 100 Days of A 1000 Praise – One Voice 27 which is from 1 January to 10 April 2027 - you will hear more about this in another article.

40 Days of Prayer – One Voice 27, with its theme ‘By Thy Spirit Lord’ based on Zechariah 4:6, is a time dedicated to praying for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit on God’s people. So far, it has been an immense blessing, truly spirit-led and bathed in prayer. There are prayers of Praise & Thanksgiving, for Consecration & the infilling of the Holy Spirit, for the prayer points raised in the brief inspirational message, and for the requests in the Chat. Each day starts and ends with the One Voice 27 Theme Song. Also, an appeal is made for those wanting prayer, Bible studies and/or baptism to make contact whether they are in the UK or overseas. We have identified people who have joined in the mornings from The Netherlands, Panama, Trinidad, Jamaica, plus those joining from the UK. God has opened doors for the 40 Days of Prayer – One Voice 27 to help tear down strongholds, and share with urgency the Good News of Salvation. On the 31 October, Day 31 of the 40 Days of Prayer – One Voice 27, in addition to the morning service from 6-7am, there will be ‘The Midnight Cry’ from 11:30pm – 1:00am. You might be wondering, ‘What is this for?’  If you read an article from Amazing Facts, entitled, ‘WitchTok and the Word…’ written by N Cloud on 26 September 2026, you will know why the 31 October, Halloween Day also known as All Hallows’ Eve has been chosen. It states, “Autumn has become the season of the witch, with witchcraft increasingly portrayed as an attractive expression of spirituality, intuition and power.” The article states that WitchTok, a corner of TikTok devoted to witchcraft and occult practices has over nine million posts and has generated tens of billions of views. In preparation for The Midnight Cry, on the 31 October, you are encouraged to fast and pray, for we are not fighting against ‘flesh and blood.’ Please join us and invite a friend.

Instead, let us hold fast to the promise in 2 Chronicles 7:14: “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”
